Peyton Manning had a huge day for the offense, leading the way to a rout for the Broncos over the Redskins, 45-21, at home.
While turnovers marred Manning's outing, his performance was otherwise respectable, completing 30 of 44 passes for 354 yards, three picks and one fumble, he also put up four touchdowns. On the Redskins side, Robert Griffin III did not have as good a day, going 15 of 30 with 132 yards passing, one touchdown, two picks and one fumble.
Knowshon Moreno was a standout player for the Broncos, rushing for 44 yards on 14 attempts in addition to six receptions for 89 yards and a score. In the fourth quarter, he snared a 35-yard pass for a score. Wes Welker was a highlight, pulling in six passes for 81 yards with a touchdown.
The Denver defense was the deciding factor in the victory, coming up with four interceptions, coming away with four interceptions while taking back one interception for a touchdown. They got to Griffin III for three sacks.
Redskins tight end Jordan Reed provided some spark with 90 receiving yards. Running back Alfred Morris had a good game as well with 93 rushing yards and one touchdown.
The Broncos head to San Diego next week to face off with the Chargers (4-3) while the Redskins will play host to the Chargers (4-3).
