NORMAL, Al. (AP) -- Jourdan DeMuynck scored 17 points to lead four players in double figures as Prairie View defeated Alabama State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game on Saturday night.
Ryan Gesiakowski had 16 points, Carl Blair 12 and Jules Montgomery scored 10 with eight rebounds for the Panthers (10-16, 7-7), who have won four straight against Alabama State.
Joshua Freelove had 21 points and seven rebounds, Ryan Watts scored 14 points and Denzell McDaniel 10 for the Hornets (11-16, 6-8), who beat Alcorn State 66-58 on Monday.
Trailing 29-24 at the break, the Panthers outscored the Hornets 41-27 in the second half, shooting 48 percent from the field (12 of25) to the Hornets' 38.2 percent (11 of 28) and hitting 70.6 percent from the foul line (12 of 17) to the Hornet's 33.3 percent (2 of 6).
Alabama State committed 22 turnovers against Prairie View's nine.
