DeMarre Carroll, Al Horford spark Hawks past Clippers

Paul Millsap put up 17 points and recorded nine rebounds and seven assists in a tremendous all-around performance to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a close victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, 107-104. Atlanta (21-7) is now on a five-game winning streak.

Millsap shot 4-12 from the field (1-4 on 3-pointers) and 8-9 from the free throw line. DeMarre Carroll also chipped in for Atlanta, finishing with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Despite the loss, Blake Griffin scored 21 points for Los Angeles on 9-17 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line. He also tallied 11 assists and eight rebounds. Chris Paul added 19 points and seven assists, Jamal Crawford finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, and DeAndre Jordan put up 15 points and 22 rebounds.

In a battle of top offenses, the unit of Atlanta (ranked fifth in the NBA in offensive efficiency) emerged victorious, scoring 1.09 points per possession.

Los Angeles (19-10) has now lost back-to-back games after falling to San Antonio on Monday.

Coming up, the Hawks play the Milwaukee Bucks, who are 14-14 on the season. The Clippers match up against the Golden State Warriors, currently sitting at 23-3 this year. The Clippers are 0-1 versus Golden State this season.
