DeMarcus Cousins scores 39 as Kings edge Knicks

DeMarcus Cousins finished with 39 points and recorded 11 rebounds, while Darren Collison added 27 points and 10 assists to lead the Sacramento Kings to a close victory over the New York Knicks, 135-129. The Kings had a strong shooting performance, finishing 49-89 (55.1%) from the field, including 8-16 (50.0%) from beyond the arc. Sacramento (13-17) has won just three of its last 10 games.

Cousins shot 14-27 and converted 10-11 from the free throw line. Carmelo Anthony had another quality performance for New York in the loss, scoring 36 points on 13-29 shooting (2-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 8-9 from the free throw line. He also added 11 rebounds and six assists. Cole Aldrich contributed 18 points and seven rebounds.

The Kings combined an eFG% of 59.6% with 50.0% 3-point shooting. They are 1-1 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Knicks, on the other hand, are winless (0-9) when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

New York (5-27) has now lost seven consecutive games.
