DeMarcus Cousins scores 35 as Kings steal one from Pelicans

DeMarcus Cousins put up 35 points and added 14 rebounds to help the Sacramento Kings sneak by the New Orleans Pelicans, 102-97. The Kings shot 38-80 (47.5%) from the field and dominated the offensive glass, pulling down 15 boards. This snaps a three-game losing streak for Sacramento (26-48).

Cousins went 13-18, in an efficient offensive performance. Other top contributors for Sacramento included Rudy Gay with 22 points and 5 rebounds, and Ray McCallum with 22 points and 10 assists. Despite the loss, Anthony Morrow scored 23 points off the bench for New Orleans on 9-13 shooting, including 4-6 from behind the arc.

New Orleans (32-42) has now dropped three straight games versus Sacramento.

Coming up next, the Kings battle the Los Angeles Lakers, who are 25-48 on the year. The Pelicans meet the Denver Nuggets, currently 32-42 this season. The Kings lost to Los Angeles the last three times they've played. The Pelicans have come away with a win the last two games against Denver.
