Cousins went 5-13 and converted 13-16 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Sacramento were Isaiah Thomas with 22 points and 5 assists, and Reggie Evans with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Tyreke Evans had a quality performance for New Orleans despite the loss, scoring 27 points on 8-14 shooting (2-3 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 9-10 from the free throw line. He also registered 10 rebounds and 8 assists.
New Orleans (23-37) has now lost eight in a row.
Coming up, the Kings take on the Milwaukee Bucks, who are 12-47 on the season. The Pelicans match up with the Los Angeles Lakers, currently sitting at 21-39 this year. The Pelicans are 1-1 versus Los Angeles this season.
