DeMar DeRozan put up 31 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to a blowout victory over the Atlanta Hawks, 104-83. The Raptors put together a very efficient performance, turning it over on only seven possessions while totaling 22 assists. Toronto (28-24) has now won back-to-back games after defeating New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
DeRozan finished 11-19 from the field (2-3 on 3-pointers) and 7-7 from the free throw line, in a solid performance. Other top contributors for Toronto included Kyle Lowry with 16 points and 13 assists, and Patrick Patterson with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Gustavo Ayon put up 18 points for Atlanta on 9-11 shooting. He also recorded 10 rebounds. Paul Millsap chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds and Jeff Teague finished with 13 points and 6 assists.
After putting up a sparkling assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.14, the Raptors are undefeated (2-0) on the season when eclipsing 2.50 in this category. However, the Hawks are 1-2 when allowing their opponents to achieve such a lofty ratio.
Atlanta (25-26) has now lost five consecutive games.
Coming up, the Raptors battle the Washington Wizards, who are 25-26 on the season. The Hawks go up against the Indiana Pacers, currently sitting at 40-12 this year. The Raptors emerged victorious each of the last two times against Washington. The Hawks have a 1-1 record against Indiana this season.
