MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) -- Stacy Davis scored 24 points, on 10-of-14 shooting, to lead Pepperdine to an 88-71 win over Central Michigan on Saturday night.
Trailing 41-38 at the half, Pepperdine came out of the break hitting on all cylinders. The Waves (3-0) went on with a 17-6 run, capped by Austin Mills' 3-pointer with 13:33 remaining and led by at least seven points the rest of the way.
In a game that was a tale of two halves, Pepperdine shot 72 percent (18 of 25) from the floor in the second half, including 7 of 12 from behind the 3-point line. Central Michigan converted just 11 of 36 field goals in the second half. The Chippewas (1-2) shot 50 percent in the first half.
Brendan Lane scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Pepperdine.
Chris Fowler career-high 23 points in the loss. Austin Keel added 13 and Blake Hibbits 12.
