Jake Cohen had game highs of 19 points and eight rebounds as Davidson held off Richmond 70-64 on Saturday in Richmond, Va. The Spiders, who never led and trailed by as many as 23 points, tied the game at 61 on Trey Davis' jumper with 2:21 to play. But Nik Cochran responded with a three-pointer on the Wildcats' next possession, part of a 5-0 run that helped hold the home team at bay. De'Mon Brooks added 14 points for Davidson (7-5), and Clint Mann added 11 off the bench. The Spiders (9-5), who lost their first home game of the season, were coming off back-to-back losses to Kansas and George Mason. Richmond's Darien Brothers crossed the 1,000-point mark for his career, finishing with 16 points. Kendall Anthony had 13 points, and Davis added 12.
