Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

David Wilson done doing backflips in the end zone

National Football Post

The flip is out.

David Wilson, the rookie running back for the New York Giants, broke out in a big way in last Sunday’s victory over the New Orleans Saints with three touchdowns. After each one, he did a backflip to celebrate reaching paydirt.

But Wilson is ready to give it a rest or find a new celebration if he reaches the end zone again this week against the Atlanta Falcons.

I think I’ll let that celebration go for the rest of the season," Wilson said on ESPN, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. "I think it’s for the team’s best interests."

Wilson will handle a big role again this week with starter Ahmad Bradshaw sidelined with a sprained knee. Wilson said he’s never missed a backflip in celebration.

"I don’t want to make anyone upset or nervous or scared," Wilson said. "I want to do something that people enjoy, rather than worry about."

But running backs have missed flips before. Marion Barber, with the Chicago Bears last season, tried a back flip after scoring a touchdown. Barber landed on his face.
