Update: Price was named the 2012 American League Cy Young Award winner Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Recommendation: In what turned out to be the closest vote in history, aside from a tie in 1969, Price edged Justin Verlander to win his first Cy Young Award. Price's 2.56 ERA was the best in the league, and he finished tied with Jared Weaver atop the AL with 20 wins. It was certainly a bounce-back season after a less-than-spectacular 2011 campaign.
