David Lee put up 28 points and registered 10 rebounds, his 17th double-double of the season, to lead the Golden State Warriors to a victory over the Denver Nuggets, 89-81. Golden State (16-13) has now won back-to-back games after defeating Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
Lee went 11-21 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line. Other key performers for Golden State were Stephen Curry with 14 points and 7 assists, Klay Thompson with 13 points and 6 rebounds, and Andre Iguodala with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Ty Lawson scored 16 points for Denver on 5-14 shooting from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line. Timofey Mozgov chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Nuggets posted an eFG% of just 40.1%, including 23.1% from 3-point range. This year, they are 1-5 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Warriors are 8-2 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
Denver (14-13) has now dropped their last four consecutive games.
