Daniel Cormier Replaces Chael Sonnen as UFC Tonight Co-Host
Daniel Cormier has long been a part of the UFC on FOX broadcasting team, but on Monday was officially named by FOX Sports as Chael Sonnen’s permanent replacement as the co-host of UFC Tonight.
UFC Tonight is FOX’s magazine-style program, which covers all things UFC on a weekly basis.
Cormier joins co-host Kenny Florian, and veteran journalists Karyn Bryant and Ariel Helwani on the UFC Tonight team.
“I love being a part of the UFC on FOX family and extending my mixed martial arts career,” says Cormier. “The TV analyst role is exciting, fun and actually improves my fighting skills, because I see the action so differently now. I look forward to working with the team each week on UFC Tonight and vow to bring the light heavyweight title belt with me to the desk in January.”
Cormier is slated to challenge UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 182 on Jan. 3 in Las Vegas.
“We’re thrilled to have Daniel join the UFC Tonight team on a permanent basis,” said Steve Becker, FOX Sports coordinating producer – UFC. “He’s been working with us as an analyst and fill-in co-host for almost two years and has proven to be a natural talent in front of the camera, providing excellent insight and a fantastic personality.”
