Dana White Confirms Conor McGregor is One Win Away from UFC Title Shot

While it has long been speculated that a title shot could be on the line for Conor McGregor when he faces Dennis Siver on Jan. 18 in Boston, it is no longer speculation.

UFC president Dana White on Thursday confirmed that a victory will earn the brash Irishman a shot at UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

“This fight in Boston if he wins this fight he's going to fight for the title. I don't know where yet,” White said, according to FOX Sports.

There is a faction of fans and fighters that believe McGregor, despite being in the midst of a 12-fight winning streak that includes four in the UFC, is jumping the line for a title shot.

There is no denying that McGregor has made an immediate impact both inside and outside the Octagon since his arrival.

While White wouldn’t indicate where they intended to do an Aldo vs. McGregor fight, should McGregor defeat Siver, he answered in the affirmative when asked if he felt such a fight could sell out a stadium if they held the bout in Dublin.
