DeMarco Murray had a big night on the ground, but it wasn't enough to avoid a big loss for the Cowboys at the hands of the Saints, 49-17, in New Orleans.
Tony Romo finished 10 for 24 with 128 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Drew Brees put up better numbers for the Saints, and wound up 34 for 41 with 392 yards passing, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Murray was a key factor for the Cowboys, rushing for 89 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown. Dez Bryant snagged one pass for 44 yards.
The Dallas defense collapsed, giving up 392 yards passing and 242 rushing. They registered a single sack on Brees.
Saints running back Mark Ingram could not be contained, putting up 145 yards rushing, 15 receiving and one touchdown. After Brees, he was the top performer for New Orleans. Running back Pierre Thomas also put together a noteworthy performance with 87 rushing yards, 24 receiving and two touchdowns.
Next week, the Cowboys head to East Rutherford to face the Giants (3-6) while the Saints host the 49ers (6-3).
