Recommendation: Without warning the No. 88 Chevrolet blew an engine while Earnhardt was making some single car runs during Wednesday's first practice at DIS. He will have to start from the rear of the field in Thursday's Bud Duel qualifying race due to the engine change, but he won't be penalized in the starting grid of the Daytona 500. Considering a few teams will change engines after the Thursday duels, this is not considered a big setback for the Hendrick Motorsports star.
