Taj Gibson came off the bench and finished with 19 points and added 13 rebounds, his 12th double-double of the season, to lead the Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, 102-94. Chicago (38-30) picked up the win after falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
Gibson went 7-17 and converted 5-6 from the free throw line. Other top performers for Chicago were Jimmy Butler with 16 points and 6 rebounds, Joakim Noah with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Carlos Boozer with 12 points and 11 rebounds. On 10-19 shooting, including 4-7 from behind the arc, Thaddeus Young put up 24 points for Philadelphia in the loss. Michael Carter-Williams chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds.
Philadelphia (15-53) has now dropped their last 22 in a row.
Coming up, the Bulls square off against the Indiana Pacers, who are 50-17 on the season. The 76ers go up against the New York Knicks, currently sitting at 27-40 this year. The Bulls are 1-1 versus Indiana this season. The 76ers have come up empty in two of their last three games against New York.
