D.C. United has announced that forward Lionard Pajoy underwent surgery to repair his left inguinal hernia and is expected to miss around six weeks.
The 32-year-old Colombian has appeared in 18 games (10 starts) for United this season, and has scored two goals, which is tied for the club's lead in league play with Dwayne De Rosario and Luis Silva. Pajoy was acquired in a trade from Philadelphia last season and has five goals in 30 appearances overall for United.
Before joining MLS in 2012, Pajoy spent his entire professional career in Colombia, where he scored 47 goals in 215 appearances.
