Closer J.J. Putz will remain with the Arizona Diamondbacks for at least two more seasons after agreeing to a one-year extension Monday. Putz was already under contract for $6.5 million in 2013 after the team picked up his contract option. The new agreement gives him a $7 million salary for 2014. The 35-year-old veteran earned 32 saves for the Diamondbacks last season, when he finished 1-5 with a 2.82 ERA in 57 appearances. He was stellar after the All-Star break, posting a 1.03 ERA. Putz had a career-high 45 saves for Arizona in 2011. Putz pitched for the Seattle Mariners from 2003-08 before spending one season apiece with the New York Mets and the Chicago White Sox. His only All-Star appearance came in 2007, when he had 40 saves for the Mariners.
