D-backs Lose to Giants, Fans Upset About Alumni Game, What Next?: A Fan's Reaction

Moments before the start of the first ever Arizona Diamondbacks Alumni game on Saturday, September 15, 2012, the D-backs Facebook fan page listed both the red and white team line ups and asked fans to pick a winner.

Most of the comments on Facebook indicated the red team would win since Luis Gonzalez was hitting in his normal third spot. Fans who attended the game enjoyed it, but many other fans would have like to have seen it on TV.

Patrica Bell posted, " I wish they had televised the game. It would of been fun to see."

Another fan, Chuck Mamula said, " The D-Backs are really stupid for not televising this...How disappointing."

Granted fans, like me, remember the good old days of the franchise, and would have like to see the game. However, another fan, Ro Puma, put it in perspective when she said, "To Chuck and everyone else who thought the (D-backs) should have broadcasted the alumni game. There is no major league team that broadcasts their old timer's games. If you want to see them buy the tickets and go to the game."

Puma has a point since the Alumni game was to get fans into the stands to support the current D-backs take on the Division leading San Francisco Giants. 39,169 fans did show up to Chase Field. Too bad the current team lost the game 3-2 and then lost the weekend series to drop to 11 games back with 13 games to play as of Sep 16.

It looks like the end is in sight, and if fans are complaining about not seeing the Alumni game, then I guess they've given up.

Yet, the D-backs are still mathematically in it.

    One can only hope.
