The Chicago Cubs signed outfielder Ryan Sweeney
to a two-year, $3.5 million deal, USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported Tuesday.
Sweeney hit .266 with six homers and 19 RBIs in 212 plate appearances this season.
The Cubs signed him to a minor league deal on April 3, a few days after the Boston Red Sox
released him. The Cubs called him up on May 6.
