Cuban fined $100,000

The SportsXchange

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was hit with a $100,000 fine from the NBA for going onto the floor to jaw with officials after a 129-127 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

The league said in its announcement on Saturday night that Cuban was disciplined for confronting referees and directing inappropriate language toward them.

Cuban immediately responded with a series of tweets.

"Just got word that I got fined 100k for speaking my mind to the officials after our game with the clippers. #moretocome

"I will donate an equal amount to a charity. But Im going to wait till iget 2mm followers. And if you email me you are not eligible.

"I couldnt let the commish go without a proper farewell. Its been a fun 14 years of trying to create change and donating to the donut fund!"

Cuban was referring to outgoing NBA commissioner David Stern, who is retiring in February. The latest fine was the Cuban's 20th totaling $2 million.

Cuban was upset when Mavericks forward Shawn Marion was called for a foul on Clippers guard Jamal Crawford during Los Angeles' late-game run. It appeared there was no body contact on the play.
