University of Cincinnati coach Mike Cronin is sticking around his alma mater for the forseeable future.
Cronin agreed to a contract extension with the Bearcats through the 2018 season but if he achieves all performance markers in the deal, it could be a seven-year extension.
Cronin was hired in 2006 and has taken Cincinnati to the NCAA Tournament each of the past three seasons. His current contract included four remaining seasons.
The Bearcats are one of the former Big East Conference teams joining the realigned American Athletic Conference next season.
