Crabtree expected to play despite investigation

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is expected to play in Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the host Atlanta Falcons despite being part of an investigation into an alleged sexual assault.

San Francisco police said Crabtree, with an attorney present, has cooperated with the investigation, the Sacramento Bee reported. Crabtree also promised to be available for further questioning.

Crabtree traveled with the team to Atlanta. The 49ers did promote wide receiver Chad Hall off their practice squad.

The alleged incident took place at a San Francisco hotel early last Sunday morning, several hours after the 49ers' 45-31 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
