Coyotes' Torres suspended indefinitely

Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres has been suspended indefinitely by the National Hockey League for his hit to the head on Chicago's Marian Hossa, pending an in-person hearing Friday, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced Wednesday.

The hearing had been planned for Wednesday, but was deferred at the request of Torres and the NHL Players' Association.

Torres delivered a blow to Hossa in the first period of Game 3 of the teams' Western Conference Quarterfinal series in Chicago on Tuesday, forcing the forward from the game.
