Cowboys sign DE Wilson

The Dallas Cowboys signed defensive end/linebacker Martez Wilson to their active roster Tuesday, hoping he can give them another pass-rushing threat.

Wilson received a two-year contract. The Cowboys plan to play him at defensive end.

Wilson (6-4, 252) played the last three seasons for the New Orleans Saints. Wilson was released by the Saints on Oct. 22 after playing in four games and having three tackles and one sack. He was acquired on waivers by the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 23 and saw action in three games before his release on Nov. 19.

To make room for Wilson, the Cowboys cut defensive tackle Everett Dawkins, who was signed on Nov. 16 and appeared in one game with one tackle.
