The Cowboys officially named Rich Bisaccia their new special-teams coordinator on Wednesday.
Bisaccia had taken a job with Auburn after the 2012 season to coach special teams and running backs, but left that post last week. He spent the previous two seasons as the Chargers’ special-teams coach.
From 2002-10, Bisaccia coached the Buccaneers’ special-teams units, working with Cowboys current defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
“Rich has been among the top special teams coordinators in the NFL for the last decade,” head coach Jason Garrett said in a statement. “He combines a tremendous amount of expertise to go along with outstanding teaching ability. His enthusiasm and passion for the game are infectious, and his units play with a relentless spirit that we believe is so important."
