Cowboys extend Church's contract

The Cowboys gave S Barry Church a four-year contract extension on Friday, keeping him in Dallas through 2016.

Church is on injured reserve after a season-ending Achilles injury suffered against the Buccaneers in Week Three.

The third-year pro was in the final year of his rookie deal. In his three starts this season, he had six tackles. Last season, Church played in 13 games with one start and made 28 tackles. He is expected to start next year alongside Gerald Sensabaugh in the Cowboys’ defensive backfield.
