Less than two weeks after interviewing embattled Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, Katie Couric is turning her focus to the Penn State University football program.
Couric has talked to Sue Paterno, widow of the late Joe Paterno, in an interview that is scheduled to air Monday, ABC announced Tuesday.
Joe Paterno died at age 85 in January 2012 of complications from lung cancer, two months after being fired by Penn State in the midst of the Penn State child sex abuse scandal involving Jerry Sandusky.
Sue Paterno had yet to give an in-depth interview since her husband's death. She was interviewed in her home last month and is expected to be in studio for Monday's airing, according to the Hollywood Report.
Sandusky, Paterno's friend and former defensive coordinator, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for molesting 10 young boys during and after his work at Penn State. Allegations arose that Paterno may have helped to cover up the incidents.
