Aston Villa 1-4 Stoke City

Geoff Cameron continues to use his club play to lobby for a starting spot on Jurgen Klinsmann's side at the World Cup. His right back performance for Stoke City, including a late goal in the 4-1 drubbing of compatriot Brad Guzan's Aston Villa, landed him a spot on several Premier League Teams of the Week and earned him Goal's CONCACAF Player of the Week award.

Christian Benteke was able to put one goal into the back of the net, but after his fifth-minute breakthrough, Cameron and his teammates were able to keep the shifty Belgian in check. He also made Gabriel Agbonlahor's life difficult on the right side of the Stoke defense.

The U.S. manager has reasons for his concern about utilizing Cameron as a right back, but this week he showed some of the promise that has some fans pining to see Cameron line up there in Brazil.

Congratulations to Geoff Cameron, Goal's 15th CONCACAF Player of the Week winner!

  The Shortlist

Bryan Ruiz - PSV

The return to Holland from Fulham continues to do wonders for the Costa Rica captain, who was on target for the second goal and assisted the third in PSV's win against Roda JC.

Juan Pablo Rodriguez - Santos

Rodriguez score both of Santos' goals in a 2-2 draw with Morelia that kept los Gurreros in the Liga MX Liguilla positions, an important feat with both league and Copa Libertadores matches coming fast and furious for Pedro Caixinha's men.

Jerry Palacios - Alajuelense

The Honduran forward was on target in both his club's CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal win against Arabe Unido and in the club's 1-1 league draw with Puntarenas, as he continues his remarkable scoring form. Unfortunately for the Costa Rican side, he also picked up a yellow card and will miss the first leg of the CCL semifinal.

Carlos Vela - Real Sociedad

A slow run of form didn't affect the Mexican star's composure, as he scored a penalty kick to give Real Sociedad its opener in a 4-3 loss to Almeria. He also wasn't distracted by any off-field rumblings that he might be switching teams, talk his club president has denied.
