Colts promote WR Whalen, waive CB Brown

The Indianapolis Colts promoted wide receiver Griff Whalen from the practice squad to the active roster and waived cornerback Jalil Brown on Saturday.

Whalen has nine catches for 102 yards in six games for the Colts this season. The Colts originally signed him as an undrafted free agent in April 2012.

The Colts signed Brown as a free agent in October. He made two solo tackles and one special teams stop in five games. For his career, Brown has 26 tackles (24 solo), two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 14 special teams tackles in 34 games.
