The Colts just received a major break on their offense
The Indianapolis Colts played their third preseason game last Saturday night against the Eagles.
The Colts looked sloppy at times on offense as Anthony Castonzo and Denzelle Good struggled through the first half. Andrew Luck took a beating and was pulled early to help keep him healthy.
When the second half started it was announced that third year guard Jack Mewhort would not return. And the initial return was that Mewhort has suffered a torn ACL and would miss the rest of the season.
#Colts G Jack Mewhort, a key cog on their OL, is believed to have torn his ACL, source said. An Andrew Luck bodyguard done for the season

Luckily however for the Colts, and Andrew Luck especially, the initial reports turned out to be just a major scare.
Great news for #Colts. Last night, the fear was OL Jack Mewhort tore his ACL. After tests, they learn he's out just 2-4 weeks, per @JimIrsay

Now the Colts will have to scramble to find out who will start the season at left guard, but it now looks as though that Mewhort will be back at some point during the first quarter of the season.

Mewhort is arguably the Colts best offensive lineman and he still might be. If healthy this season their is no reason that he should not be in the running for a Pro Bowl spot or even an All-Pro team.
Hopefully Mewhort can rehab quick and get back in the lineup. The offensive line has struggled all preseason and they will need all the help they can get when the season starts.
