The Colorado Rapids defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 to extend their unbeaten streak to nine games and continue their excellent revival in form.
Rookie sensation Deshorn Brown scored his seventh goal of the campaign in the 36th minute, giving Colorado a 1-0 lead with a towering leap and powerful header on Vicente Sanchez's cross at the back post.
Edson Buddle doubled Colorado's lead in the 79th, not long after coming on as a substitute. The forward was sitting wide right in the Rapids attack, and was in good position to finish low and hard from distance when Nick LaBrocca's pass found him.
The Rapids are now second in the West, the win putting a cushion between them and Vancouver.
