Update: Kaepernick is indeed getting the nod as San Francisco's starting quarterback at New Orleans on Sunday, CSN Bay Area reports.
Recommendation: There was a bit of murkiness with this situation due to Alex Smith's (concussion) activation prior to kickoff. However, as has been reported since midweek, Kaepernick will start under center, at least this week, for the 49ers.
