CONWAY, S.C. (AP) -- Josh Cameron made 5 of 6 3-point attempts en route to a career-high 29 points and Coastal Carolina survived a late UNC Asheville surge for an 81-78 victory on Wednesday night.
Trailing 71-59 with 3:36 remaining, Asheville battled back to close the deficit to two, 77-75, on Andrew Rowsey's turnaround 3-pointer with 19.9 seconds left. Cameron made two free throws to put the Chanticleers up by four. Rowsey missed a layup and, in a scramble for the loose ball, Coastal Carolina's El Hadji Ndieguene was fouled with 6.8 seconds left. He made both free throws for the final margin.
Elijah Wilson added 19 points, Warren Gillis 14 and Uros Ljeskovic 10 for CCU (9-8. 2-1 Big South).
David Robertson led the Bulldogs (8-9, 2-1) with 18 points. Rowsey added 15, Sam Hughes 13 and Jaron Lane 11. D.J. Cunningham had his sixth career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
