Coach more effusive about Lamar Miller than Knowshon Moreno
Dolphins running backs Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno split first-team reps the past two days, reports the Miami Herald. While coach Joe Philbin said the starting job is open, he was more effusive talking about Miller.
"I like everything Lamar has done since he's gotten here," Philbin said. "He's had an excellent offseason and camp. ... I like everything he's done since April 21 [the start of offseeason workouts]."
About Moreno, Philbin merely said, "He ran the ball well Saturday [against Dallas]."
The paper called Moreno the better third-down option, because of his superior pass protection skills. Miami opens the season Sunday, Sept. 7 against New England.
