  • This match will be Liverpool's first with Brendan Rodgers as its manager. Kenny Dalglish was fired following an eighth place finish in 2011-12.

  • Coming off a win on Wednesday, and with another MLS game next weekend, Paul Mariner is expected to field a squad with mostly reserves in this match.

  • Following this match, Liverpool will face Roma at Fenway Park in Boston on July 25, then on July 28 it will face Tottenham at M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

  • TFC won't have the services of Designated Player Danny Koevermans, who has a torn ACL in his left knee, and is out for the season.

  • This won’t be the first time Liverpool has played at Rogers Centre. In 2004, in Rafael Benitez’s third game in charge of Liverpool, the Reds took on Porto in the then-named SkyDome, losing the match 1-0

  • Toronto FC did not participate in the 2011 World Football Challenge. It lost 5-1 to Real Madrid in a 2009 friendly
