DE Clowney helped off field

AP - Sports

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney limped off the field in the second quarter against Florida on Saturday night.

Clowney rolled around on the turf in pain as Gamecocks trainers rushed out to help. He got up after a few minutes and was helped to the sidelines, limping with a right leg injury. Clowney was then looked at by team doctors on the sidelines.

Last year's Southeastern Conference player of the year had just two sacks and 6 1-2 tackles for loss this season.

Clowney has had injury issues this season. He took himself out of last month's game with Kentucky because of muscle strain around his ribs. The 6-foot-6, 274-pound junior is also dealing with bone spurs in his right foot, a condition he's had since high school.
