Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels, August 15, 2012: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

Fans of the Cleveland Indians are in for a special treat. August 15 marks the debut of Roberto Hernandez, the pitcher formerly known as Fausto Carmona. While there was a time during the offseason where fans were begging for someone other than the inconsistent pitcher on the rotation, he is certainly a welcome addition to a staff where inconsistency has become commonplace.

The Indians have the opportunity to grab a series victory over the Los Angeles Angels in the game and will have a good opportunity to do so with Angels' pitcher Ervin Santana on the mound. Paired with his 5-10 record and 5.82 ERA, Santana is 1-8 with a 5.03 ERA in 13 starts versus Cleveland.

The Indians bats have been solid scoring six runs in each of their last two games against Los Angeles. As long as Hernandez can battle the butterflies that go along with his first start of the season, Cleveland has a very solid chance at coming away with a victory before heading off to face the Oakland Athletics in their next three-game series.
