Cleveland Indians at Los Angeles Angels, August 13, 2012: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

The last thing the Cleveland Indians needed before heading out on a nine-game road trip to face a trio of teams in the American League West was to be given a reminder of the caliber of play that occurred during their horrendous 11-game losing streak. Unfortunately for Tribe fans, as their going-away present to us, we got to witness a 14-1 trouncing by the Boston Red Sox.

The Indians will face off against the Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics, and finish with the Seattle Mariners. The first two series against Los Angeles an Oakland will be brutal, as both AL West opponents are fighting for one of the two wild-card spots in this year's playoffs. The Indians are playing for pride while the fans are looking for a reason to continue to watch. The result of this road trip should prove interesting for Cleveland and seal the fate for a number of players, especially pitching, for next season.
