Cleveland Indians at Baltimore Orioles, June 30, 2012: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

Derek Lowe continued to struggle, Lonnie Chisenhall suffered a broken bone in his right forearm, and various other issues arose for the Cleveland Indians as the Baltimore Orioles rallied past the Tribe by the score of 9-8 on Friday, June 29.

To put it lightly, it was not the best day for the Indians who racked up a season-sigh 16 hits. So the unfortunate progression known as the baseball season continues. The bats remain hot but the pitching staff is giving up a greater number of runs. Next week pitching may come together while the bats cool. It is baseball; it is simply how the cycle works, especially for a team on the cusp of being highly competitive.

Luckily most realize .500 heading into the final game in June is not a cause for panic. With three months of baseball remaining anything can happen. The team will likely improve by the end of July for that final push for postseason baseball. Hopefully the fans can also come through to provide that needed energy for the boys to feed off of.
