The Cleveland defense had no answer for Josh Gordon, but it would prove not enough to avoid a loss for the Browns against the Chiefs, 23-17, in Kansas City.
Jason Campbell accounted for two touchdown on 22 of 36 passing for 293 yards and no interceptions. Alex Smith completed 24 of 36 passes for 225 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Chiefs.
Chris Ogbonnaya gained 12 yards on three carries in addition to three receptions for 15 yards. Gordon was a top performer, snagging five passes for 132 yards while adding a touchdown.
The Cleveland defense surrendered 136 yards rushing and 195 passing. They tormented Smith with six sacks.
Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles had a big game, putting up 74 yards rushing and 46 receiving. Wide receiver Dexter McCluster also performed well with 67 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Browns will play host to the Ravens (3-4) next week while the Chiefs head to Orchard Park to face off with the Bills (3-4).
