CLEMSON, S.C. -- Tajh Boyd became only the second quarterback in Atlantic Coast Conference history to throw 100 touchdown passes in his college career as No. 3 Clemson cruised to an easy 56-7 win over Wake Forest on Saturday.
Boyd ran for 69 yards and a touchdown in the game, but more importantly and passed for 311 yards and three touchdown passes, putting him at 102 now in his career.
Boyd's TD passes went for 75 yards to D.J. Howard, 64 yards to Sammy Watkins and 14 yards to Mike Williams.
Boyd and former North Carolina State quarterback Philip Rivers, now with the NFL's San Diego Chargers, are the only two quarterbacks in conference history to hit the century mark.
Boyd also became the total offense leader in Clemson school history, passing Charlie Whitehurst.
Clemson has now won its first four games to start a season for the second time in Boyd's three years as a starter for the Tigers (4-0, 2-0).
Wake Forest, meanwhile, remains winless in conference play (0-2) and 2-3 overall.
