Class of 2013 quarterback Eddie Printz Jr. won't be going to UCLA after all.
The signal-caller will not play for Bruins head coach Jim L. Mora next season after decommitting from the program, according to Edward Lewis of BruinSportsReport.com.
The pro-style quarterback from Lassiter High School (Marietta, GA) was also pursued by Pac-12 schools such as USC and Cal before deciding to attend UCLA. He had previously been committed to SMU but decided not to go there after June Jones’ flirtation with Arizona State.
Printz undoubtedly saw how well dual-threat Brett Hundley has played the first two weeks of the season for UCLA and decided to reasses his future options. Hundley is just a redshirt freshman and looks to be a perfect fit for coordinator Noel Mazzone's offense.
The 6-3, 200-pound Printz also had offers from SEC powers such as Missouri, Auburn and Arkansas before his commitment to the Bruins.
It will be interesting to see if Mora and his staff are able to find a suitable replacement at QB in the 2013 class. They would likely love to land pro-style Los Angeles quarterback Hayden Rettig, but he is currently committed to LSU.
