Toronto Maple Leafs right winger David Clarkson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday morning after an illegal hit on St. Louis Blues left winger Vladimir Sobotka in a game Thursday night at the Scottrade Center, it was announced Friday.
Clarkson was penalized two minutes for the check at 6:28 of the second period of the eventual 6-3 Blues win.
According to a press release from the NHL Department of Player Safety, the hearing deals with Clarkson's hit to Sobotka's head.
This is Clarkson's second run-in with the player safety department since signing with the Maple Leafs this offseason.
