Maurice Jones-Drew might want to consider hiring Chris Johnson as his agent.
The Jacksonville Jaguars holdout running back got a big vote of support from Johnson on Saturday, who said the club should pay it star player. CJ, of course, held out all of camp and preseason last year with the Tennessee Titans before finally getting a five-year, $53 million extension. The problem, of course, was that Johnson turned in a career-low 1,047 yards rushing after getting his big contract.
“I feel like he's worth a new deal. You look at Jacksonville. He's basically their whole offense. I feel like it wouldn't be smart for their organization not to pay him. But if they don't they'll be doing us a favor,” Johnson said via TitanInsider.com.
Jones-Drew has stayed away from all the Jaguars off-season work with two years remaining on his current contract at $9.4 million. He led the league in rushing last year.
