Chuck Blazer provisionally banned from FIFA Executive Committee

After being accused of "alleged serious misconduct" during his time at FIFA, former CONCACAF executive Chuck Blazer has received punishment for his actions.

Sort of..

FIFA announced on Monday that Blazer has been provisionally banned from the governing body's Executive Committee for a maximum period of 90 days. The 68-year-old is alleged to have taken more than $20 million from CONCACAF during his time as general secretary. The statement from FIFA reads:

"The chairman of the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, Hans-Joachim Eckert, has decided to provisionally ban FIFA Executive Committee member Chuck Blazer from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for a maximum period of 90 days.

"The decision was taken following a request made by the acting deputy chairman of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee, Robert Torres, based on the fact that various breaches of the FIFA Code of Ethics appear to have been committed by Chuck Blazer and that a decision on the main issue could not be taken early enough. "

Sunil Gulati was recently elected into Blazer's former chair of the committee and has promised to provide more transparency then the corrupt period of CONCACAF under Jack Warner and Blazer.

Warner resigned as FIFA vice-president in 2011 after being accused of failing to disclose that a $25.9 million Center of Excellence was built on his land.

Blazer is expect to resign from the FIFA Executive Committee by May 30.
