Chris Weidman Injured; Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano Headlines UFC 184

UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman has had to pull out of the UFC 184 main event due to injury.

Weidman told FOX Sports that he tore cartilage during wrestling training earlier this week, and had to pull out of the fight with Vitor Belfort. FOX Sports reported the news at the start of its UFC 183: Silva vs. Diaz weigh-in program.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey now moves into the headlining slot, putting her belt on the line against Cat Zingano.

Taking Rousey and Zingano’s spot as the co-main event is another women’s bantamweight bout, that being the Octagon debut of former world-champion boxer Holly Holm. She will debut against Raquel Pennington, now as the main support fight.

This is the latest in a string of delays for the Weidman vs. Belfort bout, which has been delayed both due to Belfort’s standing in regards to licensing because of issues regarding his testosterone use, and a couple of times due to Weidman injuries.
