The Dallas Cowboys owner believes the play should be outlawed.
Chris Snee, one of the New York Giants offensive lineman caught in the middle of the attempt by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to jar the ball loose, has a different solution.
“We’ll just tighten up and just be ready for them to fire off,” Snee said, according to the New York Daily News. “And I wouldn’t change my reaction in any way. If a guy dives at my knees, my knee is going into the back of his head. That’s what happened in the game, and that’s what will happen going forward.”
Of course, that is a good way for Buccaneers defensive linemen to wind up with concussions.
Giants defensive end Justin Tuck says he would have flat-out refused to do what Bucs coach Greg Schiano called on his players to execute. Tuck called what the Bucs did “classless.”
“If Perry Fewell told me to dive at a guy’s knee, when we were losing, I would say ‘No,’” Tuck said. “And that is just a man on man talking.”
