Recommendation: Parmelee will still need to win the job in spring training, but it sounds like the Twins plan for him to win the job after the trades of Denard Span and Ben Revere. It's possible he could be platooned in right field, perhaps with Trevor Plouffe if he's moved from third base, and he may also get significant at bats at DH, but right now it sounds like the Twins want to give Parmelee an extended trial in the outfield.

Update: Parmelee is expected to begin the 2013 season as Minnesota's starting right fielder, GM Terry Ryan told the team's official web site. "Parmelee needs at-bats and this gives him an opportunity to move to right field without any obstructions," Ryan said.
